A love letter to spring

to see life
take a turn, from absence of colour
to the abundance of it
to flourishing yellow daffodils
to white and red cherry blossoms
to clear blue skies
to lush greenery that lies around
oh, spring, the sign of life

to enjoy life
waking up to chirping birds
soft breeze on the face, closing eyes
soaking sun, taking walks
sipping coffee, holding hands
pausing every few strides
to perceive the subtle shadows
to cherish food, people, streets
and everything in-between
oh, spring, the time of life

to know life
the transient nature of it
even then, to hope and dream
embracing the truth that
this too shall pass
oh, spring, the reality of life
