Toronto Core

September 5, 2026

After five years in Toronto, I've started developing my own idea of what constitutes the city's core. It's ever-evolving and in no particular order:

  1. Pre-order a pie at Badiali's
  2. Gelato from Ed's Real Scoop
  3. Catching a Jays game when the dome is open
  4. Coffee Crisp
  5. Sunset at Riverdale Park
  6. Croissant from Brodflour
  7. Jelly King and Tacos on Ossington (including the 45-minute wait)
  8. Complain about traffic on the Gardiner, while stuck on the Gardiner
  9. A summer swim at Woodbine
  10. Drake
  11. A classic movie at Revue Cinema, with popcorn
  12. Missing a streetcar because it just went out of service
  13. Humber Bay Arch Bridge
  14. Hot chocolate from Eataly on Christmas Eve at the Distillery District
  15. A cheap concert at Budweiser Stage or Danforth Music Hall
  16. Watching raccoons climb a tree or eat garbage
  17. Highland cattle at High Park Zoo
  18. Panko Tofu Bao from Banh Mi Boys
  19. Grab a pastry and walk around Kensington Market
  20. Loga's Corner
